- Build profitable business banking relationships with a portfolio of complex and high value clients, across private and commercial banking in the horse racing sector
- Recruit, manage and lead a small team of Private and Commercial Bankers; providing mentoring and coaching support to the team to enhance performance
- Maximise income from the team’s client base by understanding clients’ requirements and business needs
- Create a team ethos of maintaining high standards of client service
- Successfully represent the Bank and your team externally and internally
- Work closely with Private and Commercial, Bankers to encourage internal networks for the referral of business
- Drive the team forward to support the achievement of the Balanced Scorecard for the business.
- Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management
- Become Trusted Advisor to top clients, whether they are your own clients or one of your team members, providing guidance across the full range of wealth management services and commercial banking services and act as a consistent, credible and accessible point of contact for clients.Should be seen in the external market as a market specialist
- Maintain a high level of segment / industry knowledge and share this with your team members
- Manage and motivate the team to exceed business targets and ensure unwavering commitment to client service
Client Acquisition
- Build and implement a marketing and business development strategy in conjunction with the Managing Director, Banking and Head of Media Banking
- Expand the size and quality of the team’s client base and lead client allocation within the team. Review the client base on a regular basis to ensure the clients meet criteria and the team’s book is cost efficient as possible
- Develop new and existing relationships with Business Introducers, to achieve new business referrals
- Be responsible for the team events strategy and leading team events
- Be responsible for your team’s specialist proposition and represent the proposition both internally and externally
Team Management

- Manage and motivate your team to exceed demanding business targets and ensure unwavering commitment to client service
- Mentoring, coaching and day to day line managementof your direct reports
- Conduct appraisals forBankers on the team and/or Banking Executives, managing any performance issues, escalating longer term complex issues as appropriate
- Take overall responsibility for your team’s financial objectives including delivery of strategy for deposit, lending, assets-under-management and wealth planning growth
- Take overall responsibility for your team’s risk and regulatory performance and promote a team risk culture
