Job Description

Job Purpose
 
To provide an IT environment that has the client at the heart of everything it does. To manage, support and maintain the IT network infrastructure to generate improved efficiency, effectiveness and profit to the business.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all incidents and requests are processed within SLA and in line with customer expectations.
  • Deliver network infrastructure services to meet with quality and availability requirements.
  • Ensure problems are identified and managed in line with the ITIL framework.
  • Create and process change requests for network infrastructure services.
  • Identify and document technology risks and provide solutions to reduce, mitigate or transfer the risk.
  • Identify single points of failure and plan to remediate
  • Manage the BT WAN ensuring routing is kept upto date
  • Create and manage regular patching and upgrades of networking estate across all technologies
  • Respond to Incidents in a timely fashion
  • Produce process documentation and knowledge base articles to ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ISO 27001, ISO27001, PCI DSS and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard and deliver operational maintenance in line with agreed schedules.
  • Provide coaching and advice to other areas of IT to help empower and knowledge transfer to other teams.
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of roadmaps for hardware including upgrades
  • Responsible for ensuring the network and firewall’s are maintained and updated according to agreed process.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience

  • Networking solutions including Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, PaloAlto, Meraki switches and AP’s.
  • Networking concepts including dynamic routing protocols and NAT
  • Firewall troubleshooting
  • Loadbalancing solutions such as KEMP, F5 Silverline, Citrix Netscaler
  • Monitoring solutions such as Solarwinds Orion and Pingdom
  • Cloud computing and solutions including Azure, AWS and Office365
  • Azure Networking including AGW’s, VNet’s, VNet peering
  • Site to Site VPN management
  • Remote Access solutions including VPN and Citrix NetScaler/Citrix Cloud Connector
  • Financial Services background would be beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, providers and senior management, both written and verbal
  • Strong team player but equally able to work on own initiative
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting/problem solving skills

Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation v4 desirable
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) desirable
  •  Cisco Cerified Network Professional (CCNP) desirable
