The Internship programme is 8 weeks long and starts on 23rd June 2025. It is designed for students currently studying and undertaking a relevant University degree who will be returning to university after the internship. Candidates must be available for the duration of the 8 week programme.

Job Purpose
 
  • To be part of a busy Credit department whose involvement with the Bank’s Credit process is comprehensive – from initiation through to documentation, monitoring and control through to recover.
  • Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain, review, and prepare relevant Credit reports
  • Maintain, input, and renew Credit limits
  • Follow up on the timely renewal of insurance for property mortgaged to the Bank to ensure that properties are adequately protected by insurance cover
  • Prepare Instruction letters to Solicitors and Valuers
  • Completion of client redemption statements
  • Completion of regulated mortgage statements
  • Dealing with loan repayments and releasing collateral that is no longer relied upon
  • Assist with the completion of required returns to the FCA
  • Instigating and maintaining lending files
  • Indexing lending documentation
  • Assist with Credit queries and seek solutions to issues that may arise
  • Build and monitor good stakeholder relationships to ensure quality service is provided at all times
  • Involvement with project work as and when opportunity arises
  • To perform other tasks as a assigned by the Head of Credit Operations

Risk:

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Interest in banking industry with the emphasis on Credit
  • An interest in learning banking systems
  • IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft office
  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high workload
