The Internship programme is 8 weeks long and starts on 23rd June 2025. It is designed for students currently studying and undertaking a relevant University degree who will be returning to university after the internship. Candidates must be available for the duration of the 8 week programme. We are advertising a number of internships across different departments. Job Purpose

The Private Banking Team Assistant will primarily focus on providing day-to-day administration and support to a team of Private Banking Executives (PBE), Private Bankers (PB) and their portfolio of clients. They will support Private Bankers with client acquisition and retention via client contact, but will primarily provide support in the preparation/submission of credit reviews, Know Your Client (KYC) reviews, account opening and daily transaction reports.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

 

Key Responsibilities (varies depending on team and current projects)

Client service and Sales support 

  • Manage account maintenance procedures – including account opening and account closing
  • Collation and submission of Credit Applications on behalf of Private Bankers (PB) and Private Banking Executives (PBE)
  • Monitor the return of Facility letters, and completion of LMF/interest rate/fee forms
  • Monitor, prepare and/or support annual credit reviews
  • Complete shadow postings on a daily basis
  • Monitor, prepare and/or complete annual client reviews – maintaining client files in the process
 
 General Day-to-Day Administration 
  • Preparing client communications
  • Preparing account opening forms
  • Responsible for keeping client records updated
  • Instigating and maintaining client files
  • Maintaining accurate client information in banking systems and CRM Salesforce
  • Diary management for Private Bankers (including future planning of meetings, meeting preparation, planning for issues)
 
Compliance 
  • Complete compliance regulatory online training (as required), adhering to both legal and regulatory requirements
  • Assist Bankers in the completion of money laundering / KYC reviews and submission to compliance
  •  As they are regulatory records, accurate completion and attention to detail are essential

Risk:

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures

Other:

 Involvement in projects and other initiatives from time to time as required by the business

Person Specification

Knowledge / Skills

  • Experience in a Client / Customer Facing role and/or ability to provide a high level of client service
  • An interest in banking and financial markets
  • Accruacy and attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Experience using Microsoft Programs – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Training will be provided where appropriate
