The Internship programme is 8 weeks long and starts on 23rd June 2025. It is designed for students currently studying and undertaking a relevant University degree who will be returning to university after the internship. Candidates must be available for the duration of the 8 week programme. We are advertising a number of internships across different departments. Job Purpose

Following an introduction to the bank and the investment management division, the intern will gain a broad education and experience in portfolio management including portfolio construction and analysis, asset allocation, performance analysis and investment research.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Format

The internship programme will last 8 weeks within the research team of the Investment Management division of the bank, where they will provide support to the ongoing research activities of the team.

The first 4 weeks will focus on building the intern’s knowledge of Arbuthnot Latham’s services, the basic tenets of portfolio management and analysis and participation in the division’s quarterly investment committee meetings. This training will be accompanied by mini-projects for each week of on-the-job learning.

The second 4 weeks will put into daily practice the information learnt from section 1 as the intern becomes involved in live research projects, fund manager and investment service meetings and presentation preparations. During this period the intern will prepare a longer more comprehensive project for presentation at the culmination of the programme upon which they will be assessed. 

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Candidates should be in their penultimate year of study in an undergraduate degree at a top-tier university.
  • Candidates must be able to show a proven interest in finance and portfolio management.
  • Candidates from all academic disciplines will be considered.
  • No prior practical experience is required.
