Job Purpose

To provide high quality and effective support for the Operational Resilience function within the COO Office, with a focus on Incident Management.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Incidents are logged, investigated and managed through to resolution and Executive sign-off.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including Executive Management, Head of Information Security, key Operational teams and Compliance to ensure that incidents reported across the AL and its subsidiary businesses are managed effectively.
  • Analyse and gather information to determine if a Regulatory notification is required and present recommendations to line manager and Executive Director. Ensure that all Regulatory notifications are completed on time.
  • Act as Secretariat and Co-Chair for the weekly Incident Review meetings. Ensure that the meeting agenda and accompanying reports are issued in advance of the meeting.
  • Responsibility for the oversight and further development of the Service Dashboard and Incident Management function within ServiceNow.
  • Assist with the annual review of Business Continuity Plans, maps and associated documentation, for important business services.
  • Assist with the planning, execution and reporting of scenario testing related to the Important Business Services.
  • Develop robust procedures and ensure they comply with internal and regulatory standards, are documented and embedded. Develop appropriate controls for new procedures that are suitable, effective and built into the Risk Register.
  • Produce and collate functional MI, analyse trends and drive remedial or improvement actions.
  • Complete FLoD checking for the Incident Management key risk controls.
  • Manage the tracking and monitoring of key actions attributed to the Operational Resilience Team to ensure key deliverables are achieved.
  • Responsible for contacting all new staff and maintaining the systems that hold all staff information relating to DR Telephone Cascade Procedure.
  • Assist in the update of Operational Resilience policies and documentation, including but not limited to: Incident Response Plan, DR Plan.

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  • Ability and confidence to deal effectively and professionally with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent time management, organisational & administrative skills, ability to work under pressure, responsible, proactive, dedicated and consistently able to achieve results with minimal supervision.  Remains motivated and confidential at all times. Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Good understanding of Regulatory expectations around Operational Resilience and Major Incident reporting.
  • Financial services background desirable.
  • Attention to detail, quality, high standards.
  • Sense of urgency when required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a positive demeanour.
  • Capable of working under pressure and using own initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst remaining flexible, proactive and efficient.
  • Aptitude for learning and willingness to develop & expand role where required.

Qualifications:

  • Business Administration qualification and/ or ITIL foundation level certification preferred.
