Job Description

The Team, Group and Promises

The HR team of 15 that you will lead is based in our brand-new office on Finsbury Circus.  As the Group’s HR Director you will be responsible for delivering the HR strategy across Arbuthnot Latham and its subsidiaries: Renaissance Asset Finance, Asset Alliance Group and Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending (c.920 staff in total).  You will work in, and foster, an environment that prioritises our colleague promises of Integrity & Stability, Inclusivity & Wellbeing, Growth and Learning and Relationships and Support (more on these further down – please take a look)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the Group’s HR strategy/plan across the four HR pillars of Recruitment, Employee Relations, Learning & Development and Reward & Remuneration, ensuring alignment to the Groups’ strategic priorities.
  • Driving change and delivering value-added people solutions to meet business needs, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and coach the HR team ensuring it is fit for purpose and capable of delivering the HR plan and service aligned to the overall HR strategy and business needs.

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Develop remuneration strategies/policies aligned to Group and personal performance as well as values-based behaviours.
  • Create and manage the HR annual budget in line with budgeted costs.
  • Review and approve Payroll
  • Provide monthly Management Information to key Group stakeholders using agreed HR metrics and provide data trend summaries and related actions.
  • Liaise with Board members/senior stakeholders to provide strategic advice on people issues as and when required.
  • Represent HR at the Risk Committee, Exco and other committee/Board meetings as and when requested to do so.
  • Champion cultural values and change initiatives whilst ensuring sponsorship from Senior Leadership team.
  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures and ensure compliance with HR related regulatory requirements.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Significant experience in an HR Director/Senior level HR Role.We are looking for someone with the right HR strategy experience, technical knowledge and leadership skills to successfully deliver the HR agenda whilst connecting with (and demonstrating) our core values.
  • Up to date knowledge/awareness of current Employment Legislation including TUPE.
  • Proven coaching & mentoring capability
  • Substantial budgeting experience that has delivered values
