Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Use your knowledge and experience to assist with the management of the growing lending book assisting with the unique needs of Owner Managed Independent Businesses
  • Act as support for a small team including a surveyor and and senior banker (team leader)
  • Assist is delivering a well controlled lending book
  • Work closely with Commercial Bankers and their assistants to ensure the growing lending book is well controlled and monitored
  • Help administer future syndicated/club deal transactions with other Financial Institutions
  • Assist with the set-up of systems to assist the team in their daily duties


Risk Management
 

  • Assist bankers and their assistants in monitoring risk issues across the lending book
  • Help ensure that risk appetite policy is adhered to
  • Monitor covenants across the business, from Real Estate development deals to debenture lending
  • Act as FLOD control checker for lending facilities – checking draw down terms met etc
  • Develop and ensure that good MI is available for portfolio control purposes including exposure levels to different sectors
  • Liaise with Credit Department/Credit Operations to ensure controls are effective


Client Service 

  • Some client contact likely in monitoring facilities and problem situations
  • Managing performance of yourself to help deliver demanding business targets and ensure unwavering commitment to service excellence
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Take responsibility for your risk and regulatory performance when assisting with client acquisition

  • Back office departments (including working closely with Credit, Compliance and the Operations departments
Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience 

  • You will have a background in Commercial Banking or Commercial Credit Risk, with experience across the financial services industry and knowledge of the commercial business market
  • Commercial Banking experience dealing with Owner Managed Independent Businesses would be considered helpful
  • Real Estate lending experience would also assist
  • Track record of helping to deliver a well controlled credit risk environment
