Job Description
  • Provide day to day operational support and oversight of Arbuthnot’s UK NURS OEIC fund range. Work closely with the business and third party suppliers to ensure the fund operates in a compliant and manner.
  • Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure Fund operates within regulatory guidelines and in a compliant manner.
  • Focus on the day-to-day operational performance of the fund, oversee and execute the daily operational tasks of the fund, liaising with 3rd parties such as ACD, Custodian and TA.
  • Monitor various controls and procedures to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an escalation point to resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as subject matter and technical expert, identifying and resolving complex fund and investment operational issues.
  • Analyse cash flow, transactions, and portfolio holdings data.
  • Lead process improvement efforts, complete comprehensive analysis, and recommend solutions.
  • Document procedures across all fund and investment product types.
  • Leverage fund and investment operational knowledge to drive operational excellence.
  • Oversee daily operations, manage controls and verify completion of processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactively proposes solutions.
  • Oversee daily cash and position reconciliations for all asset classes.
  • Trade life-cycle and cash flow management.
  • Daily liaison with trading desk and the portfolio management team.
  • Book daily/monthly subscription and redemption activity.Manage corresponding cash flows at the custodian and administrator level.
  • Review of Bi-annual Financial Statements for UCITS funds.
  • Monitoring and approval of UCITS Bi-annual dividend distribution
  • Payment of 3rd party invoices.
  • NAV Reconciliation to Fund Administrators.
  • Ensure accounting books and records for assigned funds, financial reports and other reports are well maintained, accurate and completed on a timely manner.
  • Monitor day to day management of fund dealing operations and liaise with transfer agencies.
  • Where necessary prepare regular reports and filings to regulatory bodies.
  • Perform due diligence and service review for the counterparts.
  • Undertake responsibility for the provision of fund services to investors.
  • Ensure internal/external audits are properly and efficiently carried out.
  • Manage the process of all subscriptions, redemptions, transfers and switching.

Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Fund operations background with experience of launching new funds, NAV preparation and calculation.
  • Strong Operations background with substantial experience in Asset Servicing and Corporate Actions.  
  • Strategic problem solver.
  • Attention to detail, quality, high standards, and controls.
  • Capable of working under pressure to deadlines and using own initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst remaining flexible, proactive and efficient.
