Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Waiter / Waitress to work in a collaborative and professional catering team that provides a 5-star service to clients, guests and staff at Arbuthnot Latham & Co's (Private and Commercial Bank) new high-end offices on Finsbury Circus.  The successful candidate will be an integral member of the team working closely together to set up and provide service for tea and coffee meetings, fine dining lunches, dinners and canapé events.

The hours for this role are 10.30 - 18.30 with approximately 3-4 evening events per month where the successful candidate can earn overtime.
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To assist the Chefs and Reception with the running of the catering department.
  • The Waiter/Waitress will report to the Head Chef but work closely with the Head Waitress on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Setting up rooms for breakfasts, tea and coffee meetings, fine dining lunches, dinners and canapé events.
  • Silver service for lunches, dinners and canapé events.
  • Checking stocks of consumable supplies such as tea, coffee, soft drinks, dining equipment if the Head Waitress is on holiday.Writing up any orders for the Head Chef.
  • Arrange with the Head Chef linen for evening events, such as ordering of tablecloths or napkins if the Head Waitress is on holiday.
  • Processing the twice weekly laundry collection and delivery if the Head Waitress is on holiday.Filling out the relevant paperwork and reporting to the Head Chef if there are any issues
  • Attending daily meetings with the Front of House team, reporting to Reception regularly for updates/last minute meetings/changes to existing meetings
  • Taking note of dietary requirements of clients, and ensuring these are written in both kitchens (Ground & 4th) on the white boards and communicated to the rest of the team
  • Communicating clearly any changes to meeting rooms to the other team members.
  • Cleaning the service kitchens and the maintenance of equipment and machines.
  • Adhering to strict food safety guidelines and ensuring other members of the team and temporary members of staff do the same.
  • Assisting with the stocking of the staff kitchenettes in Wilson Street and Dominion Street when the Kitchen Porter is on holiday.
  • Assisting with other catering team member’s duties when necessary to ensure a 5* service is delivered at all times.

Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Previous experience of working in hospitality is essential
  • Previous fine dining/silver service experience is important
  • Experience of corporate client hospitality sector is a nice to have but not essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding the importance of food safety will be key.
