We are seeking an exceptional Commercial Director to lead the growth of Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based Lending Ltd (ACABL) by defining, building and implementing a dynamic sales and marketing strategy. This pivotal role will drive business development and expand our client base by providing strategic leadership to a high-performing team of seven experienced originators.
Based at either our Gatwick or London office with regular travel across the UK to meet introducers and prospective clients, the ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in commercial and asset-based lending, a proven track record of structuring, completing transactions, leading senior teams, and a strong network of trusted introducers.
As a key member of the ABL Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will play a central role in continuing the growth and providing exceptional performance shaping the future of the business—with the potential for further progression over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement and drive the sales and marketing strategy for the Asset Based Lending business
- Build , lead and manage a team of expert originators across the UK to support the delivery of the Bank’s strategy and goals in relation to Asset Based Lending
- Responsible for also originating own deals and maintaining close contact with key business introducers across the UK
- Responsible for preparing and reviewing sales management information against objectives and identifying opportunities for improvement
- To ensure new business is developed through a strong and diversified network of business and customer contacts
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to enhance and deliver both product and distribution strategy
- Continue to develop skills and knowledge in order to provide a high level of service
- Monitor and analyse market trends and recommend changes to lending strategy where appropriate to ensure the future growth and success of the Asset Based Lending business
- Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.
