Job Description

This role is only open to the employees of Renaissance Asset Finance.
 
We are an asset finance specialist providing funding facilities via premium brokers and direct, with customers all over the UK. We provide unregulated fixed term finance to small and medium sized enterprises and high net worth individuals. The majority of the assets we finance comprise of high value private cars, collectors’ cars, purpose built taxis, coaches and other specialist vehicles, we also fund the purchase of a range of commercial plant and machinery as well as a limited volume of business critical soft assets.
The business was established by its founder shareholders in February 2014. Following the exchange of contracts on 20th December 2016 between RAF’s shareholders and Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited (AL), and subsequent regulatory approval, RAF became a wholly owned subsidiary of AL in April 2017.
 
To lead and oversee the day to day running of the Proposal department, ensuring SLA’s and deadlines are reached. Motivate the team to achieve shared goals and develop in their roles.
 
Key responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the day to day operation of the Proposal Team
  • Motivate team members to deliver a high standard of work and excellent service to our brokers and customers.
  • Lead the performance of individuals with monthly one to one feedback sessions, mid-year and end of year appraisals, providing individuals with objectives and plans for personal development.
  • Monitor team performance including tracking SLA’s to identify the cause of any delays and report on results to team and management
  • Review the quality of work produced by the team, ensure they are working to a good standard with minimal errors. 
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching where required
  • Resolve any issues and conflicts within the team
  • Coordinate and lead Proposal Team meetings. Where required, hold monthly Sales Support meetings in the absence of the Manager.
  • Prepare proposals received from brokers completing various searches and obtaining valuations for submission onto Underwriting
  • Communicating decisions received from the underwriter, keeping sales staff and brokers updated with deal status
  • Upkeep of CRM system with accurate customer proposal information
  • Raising, checking and sending documentation on agreed proposals.
  • Oversee the review of Proposal Process Guides and training of new members of staff.
  • Ensure the Proposal Team are adhering to GDPR guidelines and ensuring any breaches are reported.
  • Quality check work completed by the team, making sure they are working to a good standard with minimal errors.
  • Report to manager regularly with team update
  • Encouraging our ‘personal service’ to be maintained across the team
  • When required, assist with the Sales Support Pay Out team.

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the sales support function and department processes
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Strong ability to motivate self and team
  • Good communication skills – both written and oral
  • Ability to handle high workloads without impact on accuracy and quality of work
  • Pro-actively work on own initiative but still be a team player
  • Ideally from a lease or financial service background with experience / interest in people management
  • Self-motivated individual with a sense of urgency
