Job Purpose

Provide an IT environment and applications that have the client at the heart of everything it does. To provide expert-level support, development, and administration of SharePoint Online and Power Automate solutions. This role is responsible for resolving complex incidents, implementing advanced workflows, and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of document management and automation platforms across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities: 

Operational Support

  • Act as the final escalation point for SharePoint Online and Power Automate issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents involving workflows, permissions, and integrations.
  • Monitor system health and performance, ensuring high availability and compliance.
  • Maintain platform in line with best practice.
  • Ensure capacity management is performed effectively.
  • Migrate shared drives and other older SharePoint server instances onto SharePoint Online.

Solution Development

  • Design and implement advanced Power Automate flows to support business processes.
  • Customise SharePoint lists, libraries, and content types to meet departmental needs. 
  • Develop reusable templates and automate document approval workflows. 

Security and Compliance

  • Apply Microsoft Purview DLP policies, sensitivity labels, and audit logging. 
  • Enforce RBAC using Azure AD groups and conditional access policies. 
  • Review and approve Power Automate flows before deployment; manage secure credential storage via Azure Key Vault. 

Collaboration and Governance

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Work with verticals to identify opportunities to migrate onto the SharePoint Online platform where possible.
  • Participate in threat modelling and risk assessments for SharePoint and Power Platform integrations. 
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Risk:

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.
  • Raise any Risk events or RCEPS required for the applications supported.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Experience working with SharePoint online as well as legacy versions of SharePoint server.
  • Experience of working with Power Automate as well as other Microsoft tools/services.
  • Experience of working with Purview and implementing/support DLP controls and solutions using Microsoft tools.
  • Strong security mindset and experience of setting up new “applications” based on the SharePoint platform.
  • Experience of migrating from legacy SharePoint servers into SharePoint online and of migrating intranet systems to SharePoint online.
  • Experience of migrating share drives/file servers into SharePoint online.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Cloud computing and solutions including Azure, AWS and Office365.
  • Knowledge of Working in an ADO CI/CD environment would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of MoveIt file management systems would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in 3rd line support for SharePoint Online and Power Automate.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, including Graph API, OAuth, and delegated permissions. 
  • Experience with Power Platform DLP policies, custom connectors, and secure automation practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API, Azure AD, and integration with third-party systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Cloud Apps, and SIEM integration (desirable).
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft, Salesforce, or other enterprise integration platforms (desirable).
