Job Description

To provide support to the ALIM Dealing team., carrying out administrative tasks to assist with the smooth running of the firms centralised dealing desk. 

The wider operations teams deal with all issues covering Client on boarding, Providing Best Execution for Trades, Settlement, Regulatory Reporting, Reconciliation, Dividend and Corporate actions processing as well as providing our clients with valuation & tax reporting.  

 

Key responsibilities

 The individual will primarily provide assistance to the Dealing team but also cover ad hoc tasks for other teams when required and if appropriate.

The Dealing desk are responsible for execution of all trades on behalf of ALIM, covering Equity, ETF, Fixed income, FX, & Funds whilst ensuring adherence to Best Ex policy.

 The Dealing Assistant would be responsible for the below tasks:

  • Production and submission of manual trades to fund managers/TAs 
  • Managing the order management system (OMS) blotters to ensure trades are booked and allocated to clients in a timely manner. 
  • Ensuring trades are checked and matched against a counterparty contract note and contacting counterparties where this is not received. 
  • Maintenance of desk spreadsheets. 
  • Assisting with the management of on desk trading data
  • Resolving ad-hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Providing information to IM team around trading/settlement cycles. 
  • Liaising with wider operations teams to resolve issues with trade bookings. 
  • Assisting with the rebooking of orders when required. 
  • Ad-hoc duties in support of other teams.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  •  General financial services experience preferred but not essential
  •  Exceptional organisational and administrative skills
  • Understands importance of and can deliver accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to work under pressure, responsible, proactive, dedicated and consistently able to achieve results with minimal supervision. 
  • Remains motivated and confidential at all times. 
  • Ability to act on own initiative.
  • Outstanding written & spoken communication skills.  Ability and confidence to deal effectively and professionally with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Desire to progress to a dealing role is not a requirement but those career avenues are available for the right person.
  • The individual should demonstrate an ability to work in a methodical, logical and accurate fashion, occasionally under time pressure.
  • The individual must be conscientious and diligent in their work to ensure accuracy of data input, filing correctly placed etc.
