  • To provide vital credit support to our Private Bankers / Mortgage Specialists with their regulated and non-regulated lending cases
  • To set the standard for credit competence enhancing credit stewardship and promoting the framework for credit excellence
  • To provide a bespoke and rewarding customer experience and deliver suitable credit solutions.
  •  To support and develop colleagues’ credit competence.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support Private Bankers / Mortgage Specialists to deliver thorough and suitable lending advice to their clients.
  • Undertake accurate and relevant research and data analysis, providing suitable credit solutions.
  • Prepare reports and credit submissions in relation to regulated and non-regulated lending.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records, and proactively managing credit dashboards.
  •  Use client documentation to analyse and interpret client needs and prepare affordability analysis from data provided by clients.
  • Draft client suitability reports and letters and preparing other documentation at the request of Mortgage Specialist Lending Advisors.
  • Provide appropriate research material to support client outcomes.
  • Deliver a seamless client experience by maintaining client contact to manage credit workflow, including attending face-to-face client meetings.
  • Oversee diary management to ensure timely review and control of credit exposure.
  • Initiate, discuss and complete Credit Applications on behalf of Private Bankers / Mortgage Specialists.
  • Monitor the return of Facility letters, and completion of LMF/interest rate/fee forms.
  • Ensure Financial Information is monitored where required and received within the correct timescales. Covenant testing where applicable.

Risk:

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • Significant experience working in private banking and proven experience preparing credit applications utilising core bank systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, to interpret and draw meaningful conclusions from data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a successful background in relationship management and customer service.
  • A thorough understanding of HNW segment and market.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements covering money laundering and criminal activity.
  • Appropriate technical knowledge relating to lending products, policy and appetite.
  • Proven credit stewardship skills.
  • The ability to effectively manage your time, accurately prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed and demonstrable technical knowledge around all areas of Lending.
  • Strong interest in financial markets.
  • Knowledge of wealth management and banking products.
  • Multi-tasking capability.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a heavy workload.
  • A good understanding of Banking Systems and be IT literate, and a high understanding of Microsoft office.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential for this role.
