- To oversee security officers to ensure security operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of assigned premises, assets and personnel.
- The Security and Facilities Supervisor will be proactive and forward thinking, whilst balancing hand-on management to protect the Company’s valuable assets of people and information.
- To work with and educate all employees to manage, monitor and improve the security standards in the workplace.
- Responsible for all physical security inspections in the workplace.
- Directing and coordinating the activities of security personnel, coordinating with government and law enforcement agencies, and organising patrolling of the property to deliver a safe Guest and Member experience.
- Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; andto comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and Managing Security Guards
- Managing the security team effectively. This involves overseeing shift patterns and monitoring performance.
- Reporting security guard performance to the security contractor.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day management, helping the team navigate difficult situations and stay focused on their duties.
- Carry out regular training and skill assessments, ensuring the guards can handle a variety of situations.This includes safety training, emergency response protocols in line with the latest best practices and customer service skills.
The Enforcement of Security Procedures
- Access Control – Ensure all entry and exit points are monitored and unauthorized access is prevented.
- Surveillance Monitoring – Oversee the operation of CCTV cameras and other surveillance tools to ensure continuous monitoring of high-risk areas.
- Emergency Plans – Verify that all security personnel are trained on the latest emergency evacuation protocols and that plans are regularly updated.
- Emergency Response – Ensure security guards are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires and security breaches
- Incident Reporting – Ensure all security incidents are documented promptly and accurately, and reports are filed according to company policy.
- Visitor Management – Oversee the check-in and check-out process for visitors, ensuring they follow security protocols.
- Manned Patrols – Ensure security guards conduct the routine patrols of the premises to detect potential security threats.
- Alarm System Monitoring – Verify that all alarm systems are functioning correctly and ensure all guards are trained in their use and to act in a timely response to any triggered alarms.
Security Audits
- To assist with any internal or external physical security audits and ensure any observations are actioned.
- Carry out regular security audits to all premises assigned, to identify any weakness in security measures and making necessary improvements.Thes audits are to include:
- The review of patrol routes.
- CCTV surveillance coverage.
- Access and entry points.
- Guards’ performance.
Managing Security Technology
- Managing and overseeing the operation of the security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarm systems and access control mechanisms.They must ensure that all technology is functioning correctly, and maintenance is implemented as necessary.
General Responsibilities
- Assisting with emergency response and evacuations.
- Overseeing security, fire prevention, and other safety systems.
- Drafting and updating emergency plans and evacuation procedures.
- Implementing security protocols.
- Assisting the Facilities team with site inductions to new staff and visitors.
- Manage the facilities log and ensure all actions are carried out in timely response.
- Conduct frequent safety inspections and checks to address possible unsafe conditions.
