Job Purpose

To have holistic oversight of the COO team project and transformation capability, including responsibility for defining standards, processes and governance for driving effective change.

Leading, directing and enhancing change delivery capability, notably but not exclusively, through project resources including Project Managers, Programme Directors, Analysts and Testers.

Work with the COO and senior COO colleagues to support investment appraisal and budgeting, production and maintenance of aggregate plans, managing project and programme dependencies and risks.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of delivery specialists (Project / Program Managers and Directors, Analysts, Testers and Program Office) to support the effective delivery of change .
  • Direct the transformation strategy for the systems and platforms that support delivery of the Core Banking and Investment Services, including digital channels by working collaboratively with business stakeholders, internal IT service providers and external third-party platform providers.
  • Leadership of a number of multi-disciplined teams responsible for supporting and where necessary or desired, leading key change projects and programmes.
  • Work with the COO leadership team and other key stakeholders across the business to align change team capability in line with the Bank’s corporate strategy.
  • Provide relevant inputs to investment appraisal and prioritisation of key strategic initiatives – notably on project timelines, change resource required and anticipated project / programme structure.
  • Develop and maintain ownership of the Change Management Framework and Test Strategy and Approach – Own and champion the Bank’s Framework and approach.
  • Work with leadership the COO and senior colleagues to ensure effective allocation of resources and execution in line with agreed standards.
  • Lead the coordination of project delivery through an effective and well managed for PMO.
  • Lead the approach and resourcing of effective test management and testing. Defining and agreeing appropriate testing approaches, resources and management.

Risk:

  • Accountable for managing the risks detailed in the department’s RCSA on day to day basis.
  • Ensure that a robust Change Delivery Risk Control Framework is embedded and measurement of performance against defined delivery risk performance metrics is in place.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  • Experience at a senior leadership level with responsibility for change management including relevant delivery experience within Financial Services (FS).
  • A strong track record of delivering large scale organisational and technology driven change.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering technology led strategies to enhance client experience.
  • Good understanding of FS industry and the supporting ecosystem, specifically Wealth Management, Private Banking and Commercial Banking.
  • Proven track record in leading the planning and delivery of large, complex portfolios of technology , business and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with experience of stakeholder management at an executive level.
  • A strong leader and communicator with the ability to present to and engage colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
  • A team leader with a track record of attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining high performing teams.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple conflicting priorities for self and others.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to make well informed and judged decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or extensive equivalent working and leadership experience.
  • Ideally with Program Management Professional (PgMP) or similar accreditation.
