Job Purpose
 
  • Support the Bank’s aim of becoming a data driven organisation by creating and delivering fit for purpose reports to inform the business to make data focussed decisions. Using various systems and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, this role will collate MI and produce reports for onward submission to Heads of Departments and formal committees. This role will also support the Service Strategy & Optimisation Team and the wider business.
  •  To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support Chief Operating Office functions by executing data analysis and visualisation techniques to add insight to management information extracted from existing reports and data sources.
  • Understand business needs by engaging with stakeholders and translate them into clear and concise business requirements and usable MI.
  • Support the deliver the Banks Data Strategy.
  • Produce reports and management information in line with the schedule of business-as-usual reporting commitments.
  • Leverage existing reporting tools to develop and enhance regular reports to support business areas key performance indicators for distribution to Senior Managers and committees.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing current reporting by reviewing and cross-referencing different data points to provide data insights that will support business decisions.
  • Use data from external sources where appropriate to provide industry comparisons and benchmarking.
  • Escalate any data issues that impact business reporting and work with relevant business areas and technical teams to resolve them.
  • Support the delivery of regulatory submissions and projects and monitor on-going adherence ensuring relevant returns and reports are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Provide support in the delivery of projects affecting COO and wider business by attending meetings, liaising with relevant departments and completing actions within required timescales.
  • Generate and deliver continuous improvement to processes and reporting that will provide enhanced data insights. Locate and use data to support opportunities to enhance client service and / or increase efficiency.
  • As required, identify errors and ensure issues are investigated, root causes identified, preventative actions taken and that complaints are dealt with in line with FCA regulations.
  • Review and analyse any potential impact on existing reporting following change/system developments.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • General regulated or financial services experience.
  • High competency of Microsoft Office & Excel (advanced).
  • Experience of writing SQL queries and structure, analysing data and presenting it in a digestible format (data groups and subsets) and working with PowerBI.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Strong organisational skills - ability to manage and prioritise multiple, diverse tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion.
