Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Client Proposition and Product in developing the banking proposition plans, driving sustainable business growth. 
 
This involves translating client insight, market analysis, and a deep understanding of the bank’s capabilities into a clearly articulated proposition which describes why clients should choose Arbuthnot Latham for their banking needs.
 
You will be responsible for managing work to develop annual proposition plans, translating the proposition strategy into actionable priorities and working with stakeholders across the business to ensure these priorities are embedded into their plans.
 
The role requires knowledge of strategic thinking principles, collaboration, and a passion for growing the business in a client-led way, ensuring that propositions deliver the right outcomes for clients while meeting the strategic goals of the bank. Critical to this role will be developing a strong internal network across business support, COO functions, digital teams and the front office to ensure proposition plans are placed at the heart of activity across the bank.
 
You will be working in close partnership with the banking product manager who is responsible for the product governance, regulatory compliance and feature development of the banking products. 
 
Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • In partnership with the Head of Product and Proposition, support the identification and assessment of opportunities to enhance client propositions aligned to strategic objectives. 
  •  Aid strategic decisions about target audience, the proposition(s) offered, and the client experience needed to support ongoing growth.
  • Translate strategic thinking into straightforward, practical, and actionable priorities to inform operational plans, CX improvement plans, product development, marketing strategy, business development, and events plans.
  • Oversee continuous improvement and iterative changes to the proposition through regular reviews, working closely with the Banking Product Manager.
  • Produce proposal papers and business cases for submission to relevant governance committees, supporting presentations to achieve approval.
  • Work with the Banking Product Manager on projects to launch changes to the proposition and review impact
  • Work with marketing to effectively launch new propositions and ensure consistent communication of the bank’s value proposition.
  • Monitor proposition performance, conduct post-launch reviews, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Decommission propositions which are no longer required or are not delivering appropriate client or business outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with product policies, procedures, and risk frameworks, placing the interests of customers at the centre of all activities; acting in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and complying with FCA and PRA Conduct Rules.

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience: 
  • Extensive experience in proposition development, growth strategy and customer experience  
  •  Substantial experience working in the banking sector and knowledge of Financial Services
  • Background may include agency, consulting, or strategic roles within firms
  • Understanding of client insight and market analysis methodologies
  • Experience of project management and coordinating cross-functional initiatives 
 

Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen. 
  • Ability to workshop new ideas and answer challenging questions with senior stakeholders. 
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written. 
  • Ability to form partnerships and collaborate effectively across teams to deliver change effectively 
  • Client-focus with a passion for delivering client-led growth. 
  • Ability to work with MI and data sets to generate actionable insights.
