This is a one year Industrial Placement starting on 7th September 2026. To be eligible for this programme you must be currently studying at University and undertaking a one year industrial placement as part of your course. You must be returning to University in September 2027.

Job purpose

To provide administrative support to the Investment Management Operations (IM) team. IM Ops work closely with the Investment Management team as well as interfacing with all other areas of the bank and third party providers.

The team deal with all operational issues covering Client on boarding, providing Best Execution for Trades, Settlement, Regulatory Reporting, Reconciliation, Dividend and Corporate actions processing as well as providing our clients with valuation & tax reporting.

Where applicable, to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers; and
- to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative cover for the Dealing team but also rotate through the other teams within IM Ops.
- Dealing – Execution of all Investment trades, covering Equity, ETF, FX, & Funds. Ensuring adherence to Best Ex policy. Liaising with IM/SIM on the status of trades and helping to manage the process of investing new money in or client liquidations. Managing the placement of model trades, advising the team on liquidity and time frames when dealing in specific stocks.
- Client Transitions – Account maintenance, opening and closing investment accounts / transfer of investments, assets, and payments between organisations, maintain and amendment of client static data, set up and maintenance of Securities / Pricing of Securities.
- Middle Office & Control – Reconciliations & Client reporting, preparation / validation and distributing Tax Packs and valuation statements. Monitoring portfolio performance in line with MiFID directive, ensuring clients are notified of 10% drop in portfolio value.
- Asset Servicing – Settlement of all transactions through CREST and via global custodian arrangement. Monitor and process all Corporate Action’s and dividends, Transaction reporting, issuing Client contract notes.
- Technical Oversight – Regulatory reporting, conducting FLoD checking of IM Ops processes. Payment’s team handling all IM related payments, ad hoc / trade related & standing orders. Oversight of Gilliat structured product backbook and appointed Third Party Administrator.
