Job Description

This role sits within our International Team based in London.

The Private Banking Executive (PBE) will primarily focus on providing pro-active support to one to two Private Bankers and their portfolio of clients. They will support Private Bankers (PB) with client acquisition and retention via client contact, but will primarily provide support in the preparation of lending proposals. The PBE will act as a proxy for the PB, representing them in meetings or communications.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.

Key Responsibilities:

Client service and Sales support

  • Main point of contact and accountability for clients in respect to their day-to-day banking
  • Building and monitoring client relationships
  • Supporting Private Bankers in developing, growing and retaining their portfolio of HNW Clients, ensuring a quality of service is provided at all times.
  • Will be competent at identifying new sales opportunities
  • Undertake proactive client calls and ensue PB’s follow up on all client leads and facilitate client meetings
  • Preparing full client briefs and research for private bankers
  • Support Insights for Action survey scores (following up insights for action raw data) ensuring interaction is positive experience and expectations are managed and met at all times (where responses are negative that, that these are doubt with effectively and efficiently)
  • Manage account maintenance procedures – including account opening and account closing
  • Initiate, discuss and complete Credit Applications on behalf of Private Bankers
  •  Monitor the return of Facility letters, and completion of LMF/interest rate/fee forms
  • Monitor, prepare and/or carryout annual credit reviews
  • Complete shadow postings of a daily basis
  • Monitor, prepare and/or complete annual client reviews – maintaining client files in the process

General Administration

  • Preparing client communications
  • Preparing account opening forms
  • Responsible for keeping client records updated
  • Instigating and maintaining client files

Private Banker’s organisation

  • Organising, maintaining and coordinating diaries for the Private Bankers (including future planning of meetings, meeting preparation, planning for issues)
  • Organise travel schedules

Support the bank’s Change & innovation agenda

  • Complete user acceptance testing of technology updates, new functionality & systems used in front office as required
  •  Input to change projects to give ideas, input and requirements as required

Risk

  • Complete compliance regulatory exams, adhering to both legal and regulatory requirements
  •  Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  • Front office experience is required  
  • A good understanding of HNW segment and market
  • Detailed and demonstrable technical knowledge around all areas of Lending
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements covering money laundering and criminal activity
  • Strong interest in financial markets
  • Knowledge of wealth management in banking products
  • Multi-tasking capability
  • Ability to work under pressure with a heavy workload
  • A good understanding of Banking Systems and be IT literate, and a high understanding of Microsoft office
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential for this role
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

Qualifications:

  • You should be working towards or already hold a valid professional qualification in CeMAP (or equivalent)
