 This position is a twelve to eighteen month fixed‑term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
 
 Job Purpose
 
 As part of the Financial Crime Prevention team (FCP), lead the review of client account opening packs and KYC (Know Your Client) reviews to ensure financial crime risks are properly assessed and documented by front line banking and wealth management teams.
 
To provide assistance and training to staff across Arbuthnot Latham and subsidiaries in relation to financial crime, including complex matters requiring detailed technical understanding, provide oversight of Financial Crime investigations work, and ensure risk and regulatory reporting is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
 
 To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
 
 Key Responsibilities:
 
  •  Manage and oversee the work of the FCP team to ensure bank account opening packs and KYC reviews are in compliance with AML and business requirements.
  •  Be the escalation point for front office Financial Crime queries and procedure updates.
  •  Maintain Financial Crime policies and procedures.
  •  Prepare and deliver Financial Crime training to staff across the business.
  •  Conduct financial crime investigations, including the assessment of internal SARs/STORs and preparation of external disclosures where required, ensuring a riskbased, proportionate and welldocumented approach in line with legal and regulatory expectations.
  •  Respond to external requests for information from law enforcement, regulators and other competent authorities.
  •  Oversee the monitoring and review of potential PEP and Sanctions matches.
  •  Oversee the preparation of Financial Crime MI for use by the team and business.
  •  Deputise for the MLRO at relevant management committees.
  •  Provide ad hoc assistance on projects, requests from Senior Management and Internal Audit queries.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

  • A very good technical understanding of the financial crime legal and regulatory environment.
  • Experience of leading teams Customer Due Diligence teams within a Financial Crime / Customer Due Diligence environment.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
