Job Description

Aid and assist Banking & Credit Operations with the ongoing regulatory, scheme and optional change programme required by the business to maintain compliance and competitive position within the marketplace.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide clear and concise procedures for all jobs affected by the change being implemented.
  • To act as the business contact and represent the business at change related meetings requiring technical input and attendance.
  • Point of reference for Banking Operations staff with regards to change / testing programme.
  • To provide support to the Banking & Credit Operations management with the change programme.
  •  Management reporting – compiling reports on open banking and banking performance and project status and ensure key milestones are met.
  • Assist and provide training to Operational staff on any system changes being implemented.
  • Conduct QA testing on new releases and lead on any reviews of bugs / discrepancies identified.
  • The focal point for all testing requirements required by the business and to liaise with team leaders to ensure adequate resources are available to meet test needs.
  • Liaise with other areas of the bank with regards to operational change to process and systems.
  • Ensure changes are compliant with both scheme and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure composition of training plans and ensuring process and procedures are updated, respectively.
  • Assist with the formation and implementation of test / go-live run books and first occurrence confirmation recording.
  • Manage suppliers and costings where necessary.
  • Undertake BAU work as and when required to ensure knowledge is kept up to date, including on-call rota.
  • To identify, analyse and deliver process improvements.
  • Be able to process and deal with Open Banking queries both client and TPP in respect of onboarding and usage
  • Understand quarterly REP020 submissions and submit them on time to FCA and publish on AL’s website in compliance with regulation.
  • Assist with monitoring Open Banking API traffic volumes and rejection / failure rates

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

Extensive experience of banking operations and products, regulatory framework, reporting and fraud prevention. Must have knowledge and understanding of national and international payment systems including but not restricted to SWIFT, CHAPS, Faster Payments,SEPA and Open Banking as well as 
 
  • UK Clearing, Direct Debits and Standing Orders, Cash management, Cheque processing.
  • Extensive experience in Digital Banking and messaging systems including but not restricted to Online Banking, Mobile Banking and Open Banking.
  • Have good understanding of Open Banking Client Experience Guidelines (OBCEG)
  • Have experience of participating on projects and have a track record of managing own time and meeting project milestones and deadlines.
  • Project experience to include requirement gathering and documentation, testing (including composition of test plans) and all elements of testing from SIT to UAT and go live.
  • Good interpersonal skills – the ability to deal with staff at all levels of the organisational chart.
  • Have excellent communication skills.                                          
  • Experience in analysing and understanding the impact of change requirements on the business.
  • Self-motivated individual with a “can do” attitude and ability to energise others.
  • Strong organisational skills with a key focus on attention to detail.
 

Qualifications:

  •  Two A levels or equivalent work experience in Payment Operations.
