Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will have proven experience in managing communications in the financial services industry, preferably in Wealth or Asset Management. Ideally you will have had exposure to both internal and external communications.

You will play a leading role in developing and executing the internal and external communications strategy, as well as taking charge of our PR strategy and day-to-day management of the PR agency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to design and develop a media relations strategy that promotes, protects and builds on ALs reputation and ensure alignment with ALs strategies and priorities

  • Content management – create and manage an editorial calendar which spans across all channels from PR to social media

  • Manage any company research from a marketing and communications point of view

  • Build strong working relationships with teams across the business, providing communications advice when relevant

  • Ensuring efficient and effective use of communications channels, reviewing and updating as and when necessary to meet stakeholder requirements

  • Providing communications guidance to the business and ensuring that key employees are appropriately trained to speak with the media

  • Work closely with COO to organise their conferences and weekly updates

  • Responsible for regular internal communications – e.g. Peacock Press fortnightly email and maintenance of the intranet site

  • Manage the employee recognition scheme in partnership with HR

  • Develop and implement new ideas for effective internal communications

  • Social media – manage our social media platforms together with our digital agency and in coinjunction with the editorial calendar

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Broad understanding of wealth management, including investment management

  • Experience in dealing with media contacts and PR agencies

  • Excellent understanding of best practice and all types of communication channels

  • Experience with copywriting and editing marketing campaigns

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills are key
