Job Description

Job Purpose

• Develop and maintain trusting and long-standing business relationship with high net worth (HNW) clients to enable you to effectively advise them on complex products in all asset classes, wealth structuring, estate planning, retirement planning and protection
• Create and implement comprehensive and compliant financial solutions for individuals, businesses, and organisations, utilising your knowledge of tax and investment strategies, securities, insurance, pension plans and tax efficient investment
• Work with internal and external business partners to offer bespoke wealth management solutions
• Identify and develop new business opportunities from existing clients, introducers and referrals as well as your own comprehensive business networks

Key Responsibilities

Client Management
• Develop trusting relationships with your clients as a functional consultant available to proactively provide appropriate, effective and timely advice as required
• Uphold the highest levels of service to all clients and achieve sales targets by initiating new client meetings, completion of fact finds and making product recommendations
• Ensure all agreed revenue targets are met and work is completed in a compliant manner and is in-keeping with the Bank’s quality standards

Financial Solutions
• Meet with clients to determine their assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, retirement provision, tax status, and financial objectives
• Create innovative financial solutions that appropriately meet your client’s needs before drafting high-quality, compliant reports and proposals
• Clearly and effectively deliver highly complex information and concepts to clients in an appropriate format
• Implement recommendations in a timely manner and maintain contact with the client to revise the plan based on changes in their needs or objectives, or the market, on an ongoing basis
• Deal with client affairs with integrity and efficiency at all times and in a manner that is in-keeping with the standards required by HNW individuals

Client Acquisition
• Manage your network of personal and business relationships, both internally and externally to acquire, develop and service clients
• Proactively generate new business opportunities using existing clients and leads from other areas of the business
• Fulfil the responsibilities required under the FCA’s Senior Manager and Certification Regimes, and Conduct Rules

Person Specification

Knowledge/ Experience

• Demonstrate expert knowledge of investment, fiduciary and banking knowledge is required
• Significant Wealth Planning experience with a successful track record in working with HNW Clients providing fully holistic advice, ideally within a Private Banking and/or Wealth Management arena
• Thorough understanding of Private Banking and wider markets along with understanding the client’s investment needs and orientation
• Research, analysis and interpretation, file preparation, and report creation for client solutions
• Regulated sales experience
• Client management experience
• Experienced in working with professional introducers
• Dealing with Fee-based RDR compliant offerings


• Previous experience of delivering a profitable Wealth Planning proposition
• Significant Wealth Planning experience with a successful track record in working with HNW Clients providing fully holistic advice
• Sound knowledge and insight into the operations of the FCA
• Possess an expert understanding of the industry, trends in the pension and investment marketplace, asset classes, regulations and other relevant legislation
• Effective communicator with excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills, integrating tact and diplomacy
• Work in a team environment and demonstrate appropriate continual professional development
• Sound operating knowledge of technical systems and packages, including Microsoft Office, 1st Advisor Office Software and AQUOS
